For the “Women in the Arts” issue, I was pleased to write up profiles on three amazing artists and bad-ass women–Nancy Grace Horton, Tessa Greene O’Brien, and Amy Stacey Curtis–as well as a longer feature and interview with the unforgettable Dahlov Ipcar. I had met and worked with Dahlov in the past and was so happy to reconnect with her–but I
did not realize that this would be the last time we’d be in touch. She died about six months after this article appeared–she was 99!–and this ended up being one of the last interviews she ever gave.
